Every skill and attribute has bubbles that you track to level that skill up. You have to succeed and fail and the higher the skill the more you must succeed and fail to level up.
Why do you have to fail too? Because if you aren't failing you probably aren't pushing yourself very hard and you aren't learning from your mistakes. This encourages you to tackle bigger challenges when you are ranked highly in a skill and on top of that it makes failure rewarding in its own way so that even a bad roll of the dice download mouse guard pdf a useless result.
