Instructions provided describe how to create a Microstation seed file for use with the Export to CAD geoprocessing tool. The Export to CAD geoprocessing tool creates Microstation design files from ArcGIS feature layers and a required Microstation seed file. A seed file is essentially a blank Microstation design file with the appropriate settings. A seed file for a DGN file is similar to a drawing template (DWT) file that contains default settings and attributes, such as working units. Selecting the appropriate DGN seed file (imperial, metric, or user-defined), and conversion units is critical to the translation from DWG to DGN. Jun 02, · Hello, I am new to Microstation V8i SS2. I understand the seed file is just a template file and the dgnlib file is similar but contain library information such as dimensions, fonts, etc.

Dec 26, · If you look on the lower left corner where it says "Specify Seed File," that is where my issue is coming from. AutoCAD is supposed to come with (4) seed files for Imperial and Metric in V7 and V8 edition conversion from DWG to DGN, but I do not know where they are located in the support files, or documents, etc. nor do I know their names or file extensions for searching.
