Sep 27, · Manual mod download help? - posted in Skyrim Mod Troubleshooting: Due to some corrupt saves and a couple CTD I decided to reinstall skyrim fresh. NMM is working fine the mods that I install with it show up in the load order of skyrim. When I try to manually install mods and put them in the skyrim data folder, they are showing up in the folder but not in the skyrim load order. Am I missing. Download a mod you want to install either manually or through NMM. (Follow this tutorial if you don't know how to download mods) NMM-Installation: First make sure NMM (Nexus Mod Manager) is installed. Then simply double-click the mod in the "Mods" tab of NMM after it has finished downloading your mod. Now you have two ways to download the file. You can either download it through Vortex (recommended), or you can download it manually. Vortex: Click the Mod Manager Download button on the file you want to download. This will open Vortex and begin the download.

Then you will have to activate the mod in the manager and that will set them active. For NMM: click or doble click, depending on your settings the mod in the list.

You can see why Ilja and everyone really recommends a mod manager You will have to delete files to get rid of this manual mod, and somehow replace every file with their originals to get back to a previous state. This is a nightmare of having to organize backups and record which files were changed.

Just realized I never answered the original question, aka how to manually download mods. Is there a solution for mod manager to download properly.
